Program description:	Sylvan's approach is research-based and our strategy for closing a students achievement gap is based on delivering an individualized Sylvan Skills Assessment. The assessment is then used to identify students' skills strengths or weaknesses and then we develop a personalized lesson plan. Sylvan Learning Center's student/instructor ratio is 3:1. The students are instructed in an encouraging and supportive environment that is designed to help a child improve in their reading and math skills in the classroom and beyond. Initial and final assessments will be shared with school administrators, classroom teachers, parents, and students in the form of oral and written progress reports.

Description of tutor qualifications:	To ensure the highest quality associated with the Sylvan Learning Center program, all instructors must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher and a teaching certificate.
